Academy Blinds Desktop View

1) Academy Blinds

Project Scope: WordPress / Web Development Project, Onsite, Offsite SEO
Client: Academy Blinds in London, One Man Band Fitting Blinds and Window Dressings and Fixtures for small and medium sized clients.
Scripting Languages Technologies: WordPress, Php, MySql, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Jquery
Project Info: This was for a one man company called Academy Blinds in London. He fitted custom blinds to Bathrooms, Front Rooms, Kitchens etc, offices and churches. I knew how to make the website so there was no problem with that. However getting him involved in the marketing process, like I had with other clients, meant the marketing process stalled and lacked momentum, grinding to a halt. In his case, it would have been better to work around him, by taking a payment and produce results with minimal client involvement.

Scripting Languages Technologies: WordPress, Php, MySql, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Jquery
Project Info: This was a website for a two person Car Repair and Body Shop Garage. It was the first one I built in 2010, hence its appearance. After 5 years on the internet and with the use of good SEO they would often attract 25 to 30 new customers a month. I spent 1 month designing the site, then 5 years marketing it on and off between 2010 and 2015. It still kept making sales for the clients up to 2023, however there was a payment issue between the garage and the hosting provider which I tried to resolve in 2023, but they prevented me from doing so. Consequently the site went down. It’s now been replaced by the dysfunctional embarrassment you see now.

Project Info: The complaint of the site owners was the site didn’t function as a site before I improved the user experience. The information was not readily available and appeared in illogical places. I improved the user experience, so it functioned as a good site should, making the information readily available in logical places to the user. A few months later I came back to do some facebook marketing with facebook ads and google maps. I stopped working for them in Nov 2024 as the management style was too informal and too harsh for me.

I emphasised the organisation the company offered in a more user friendly and accessible way. Also adding graphics. The result was it was clearer to the community what services they delivered and what the project was about. The project was about offering help to people in the local community with the aim of spreading compassion. Services included lifts to important appointments, dog walking, shopping for clients to name a few.
Fareham Area Disability Forum Desktop View

10) Fareham Area Disability Forum

Project Scope: A Charity Website
Client: Fareham Area Disability Forum Ltd
Scripting Languages Technologies: WordPress, Php, MySql, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Jquery
Project Info: This charity would assist disabled people in Fareham by providing drop in services, advice and support as well as activities. Activities including the experience of riding in a race car for the blind. I built the site after being presented with an image of the desired layout. It successfully conveyed the company message and image, a little while later, using this and their other website, they received a grant to hire a centre and carry out more of their activities. They got their brand well known, by attending meetings with high profile businesses and organisations looking to make their premises disability friendly; going on radio programs, and local TV. So there wasn’t much need for me to carry out SEO or other forms of web marketing.
